Ingredients

For the Sauce:

  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, for spice
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch for thickening

For the Shrimp & Broccoli:

  •
  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled, deveined, tails removed if desired
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups chopped broccoli
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  • 1. Prepare the Sauce
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
  • 2. Marinate the Shrimp
  • Place the shrimp in a bowl and pour in ⅓ of the sauce. Let it marinate while you prepare the rest of the dish.
  • 3. Thicken the Sauce
  • Whisk the cornstarch into the remaining sauce and set it aside.
  • 4. Cook the Broccoli
  • Heat a skillet or wok over high heat.
  • Add olive oil, broccoli, salt, and pepper. Stir-fry for 5-6 minutes until just tender.
  • Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • 5. Cook the Shrimp
  • In the same skillet, melt the
    butter
    and add the shrimp,
    discarding any excess marinade
  • Cook for about 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  • 6. Combine Everything
  • Pour in the
    reserved sauce
    and simmer on
    low-medium heat
    until thickened, about
    2-3 minutes
  • 7. Finish the Dish
  • Add the cooked broccoli back into the pan and toss until everything is well coated and heated through.
  • 8. Serve & Enjoy!
  • Serve hot over steamed rice, pasta, or even quinoa for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Want deeper flavor? Marinate the shrimp for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Jumbo shrimp (16/20 size) work best, but smaller shrimp can be used—just adjust cooking time.
  • Keeping shrimp tails on enhances flavor and looks beautiful, but feel free to remove them.
  • Using frozen broccoli? Thaw and pat dry before cooking to prevent excess moisture.
