For the Sauce: ½ cup honey ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger 2 tablespoons minced garlic ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, for spice 1 teaspoon cornstarch for thickening For the Shrimp & Broccoli: 1 pound large shrimp peeled, deveined, tails removed if desired 2 tablespoons butter 2 cups chopped broccoli 1 teaspoon olive oil Salt & pepper to taste
1. Prepare the Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
2. Marinate the Shrimp
Place the shrimp in a bowl and pour in ⅓ of the sauce . Let it marinate while you prepare the rest of the dish.
3. Thicken the Sauce
Whisk the cornstarch into the remaining sauce and set it aside.
4. Cook the Broccoli
Heat a skillet or wok over high heat.
Add olive oil, broccoli, salt, and pepper . Stir-fry for 5-6 minutes until just tender.
Remove from the pan and set aside.
5. Cook the Shrimp
In the same skillet, melt the
butter
and add the shrimp,
discarding any excess marinade Cook for about 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
6. Combine Everything
Pour in the
reserved sauce
and simmer on
low-medium heat
until thickened, about
2-3 minutes 7. Finish the Dish
Add the cooked broccoli back into the pan and toss until everything is well coated and heated through.
8. Serve & Enjoy!
Serve hot over steamed rice, pasta, or even quinoa for a complete meal.
Want deeper flavor? Marinate the shrimp for 30 minutes before cooking.
Jumbo shrimp (16/20 size) work best, but smaller shrimp can be used—just adjust cooking time.
Keeping shrimp tails on enhances flavor and looks beautiful, but feel free to remove them.
Using frozen broccoli? Thaw and pat dry before cooking to prevent excess moisture.
